Moroccan double standards

Morocco is holding a development conference on African poverty (BBC 06/03/07).

Presumably the issue of 150,000 Saharawi refugees in the Algerian desert, won't be on the agenda.

The forgotten refugees, sent to one of the most inhospitable areas in the world by Morocco when it annexed Western Sahara in 1975, have been waiting on a UN referendum on self-determination since 1991.

You would have thought the UNDP who is supporting the conference would have checked with the UN's MINURSO first.

This is not the first time it's been said, nor will it be the last, but get your house in order UN.

Not heard of the issue? Not surprised it's been buried in the sand for 30years. Start learning here.
